What’s Open and When?

All of Ontario entered a provincewide stay-at-home order on Thursday, April 8 for at least four weeks. Most facilities on campus are now closed – including campus eateriesthe University Community Centre (UCC), study spaces, and all indoor and outdoor recreational facilities.

All members of the Western community are now required to wear three-layer non-medical masks, rather than cloth masks, indoors and in the presence of others.


Western Libraries

All Western Libraries are closed and study spaces are not available for booking. No-contact pick-up of collections is available at Weldon only. All current digital and remote services continue.


Campus Eateries

Hospitality Services

The following will be open as of Wednesday, April 7 for take-out only:

Campus Recreation

The Western Student Recreation Centre and Thompson Athletic and Recreation Centre are closed, as are all outdoor recreational facilities, including volleyball and basketball courts.

Parking

Complimentary parking is available in most campus parking lots until September 1. Parking permit holders will not be charged for May through August. For more information, visit www.uwo.ca/parking.

Student Health Care Clinic

Student Health Care is open, however, only those with an in-person appointment scheduled should visit University Community Centre (UCC) Room 11.

Students must pre-book clinic visits by calling 519-661-3030. Patients of the Staff/Faculty Family Practice Clinic must pre-book clinic visits by calling 519-661-2047.

Physicians continue to provide virtual visits via telephone. All visits need to be booked in advance. For up-to-date clinic hours of operation or to book an appointment, visit the Student Health Care website.

COVID-19 Testing

A COVID-19 test at the Western testing centre is now available for any student prior to returning home. Students are urged to schedule an appointment in advance.

Use the online booking tool to schedule appointments at the Western COVID-19 Testing Centre in advance. Any registered student and current employee with an active Western username and password can book an appointment using the online booking tool.

Student Health Care Clinic: Symptomatic patients requiring a physician's assessment can book a virtual visit with a doctor. Follow-up examination and testing in person may be scheduled at the doctor's discretion, which may include a COVID-19 test. To book an appointment, please call the Student Health Care Clinic at 519-661-3030.

Office of the Registrar

Due to the pandemic most offices are operating virtually with no staff physically present on campus.

Student Central

All in-person services closed. 

  • Virtual chat hours are Monday to Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Students can contact Student Central through the virtual helpline.

Book Store & Campus Computer Store

The Book Store at Western and the Campus Computer Store are closed. Shipping within Canada and internationally is available for online orders but at this time they are not able to offer in-store pickup. Order processing is currently 1-3 business days.

UCC Health Services

As of April 9, 2021 and until further notice, the UCC building has limited access. ONLY the doors by Health Services – just east of the purple awning entrance – are open to access the following services:

Western Technology Services Helpdesk

Due to COVID-19 protocols, the Genlabs are closed and the Helpdesk counter service is unavailable.
